Buckle up
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW
The book is out. People have it. People have been sending me pictures of themselves with it. People have been telling me they’re excited about it. My friend Chloe Alexandra Thompson has been giving me a play-by-play of her thoughts as she reads.
And I’m grateful. Just so grateful.
Some upcoming events:
- September 15. I’ll be leading a workshop and participating in a roving tour of Minetta Creek (this part led by Jade Nixon) as part of the NYU Center CIRCLE Equinox Gatherings. The workshop and tour is already at capacity, but I am going to try to do another one in the city at a later date, and think this could be part of an ongoing artistic intervention, details later.
- September 25. 6-6:50PM. I’ll be in dialogue with Wood Mountain Lakota First Nations artist Dana Claxton (pinch me), at MoMA as part of their Artist Party: Destination Unknown. We’re going to be discussing relations, treaties, fire, and trust. RSVP Required.
- October 7. 6:30-8pm. Imagining Indigenous Futures. Big big big, major major MAJORRRRR book launch/panel discussion with Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, Candice Hopkins, and myself at MoMA. RSVP required. Don’t want to miss this one.
I was interviewed by Saki Sato and Kirby Chen for their podcast Hybridia. You can listen to the interview here. It was a really sweet conversation about speculation, care, and kinship. Lots to be grateful for. Thanks to Saki and Kirby for having me!
And I’m back to school. Teaching and teaching. I’ll do a post about my red seminar and Indigenous Abiayala next week. For now, I’m back to the grind!
